What we collect, why, and how to make us delete it. In plain language, because a policy you cannot read protects nobody.

In effect from August 1, 2026 Last updated July 30, 2026
The short version
  • No cookies, no trackers. This website sets none at all, and runs no analytics or advertising, so there is nothing for you to accept or decline.
  • Only what you gave us. We hold your details only if you booked a meeting or wrote to us.
  • Never sold, never shared. We do not sell your details and never pass them on for anyone else's marketing.
  • Deleted on request. Ask us to remove what we hold and we will, then confirm that it is done.

01 Who we are

Distributor Technologies Limited builds software for insurance and advisory distribution. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy, and you can reach us about anything on this page at the address at the foot of it.

We are a Hong Kong company. Our registered office is 10/F., Guangdong Investment Tower, 148 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong, and this policy is governed by Hong Kong law, including the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

02 What we collect, and when

Nothing at all, until you choose to contact us. There is no form, no sign-up and no account on this website.

  • When you book a meeting. Our booking page asks for your name, your email address and your company, and offers an optional phone number. You can add a note about what you want to discuss. We also hold the time you chose.
  • When you email us. Whatever your message contains, including your name, your email address and your signature.
  • When you simply read the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, which include the internet address your request came from, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you, build a profile or follow you between visits.

We do not ask for, and do not want, anything sensitive. Please do not send us confidential commercial information, or personal data about your advisors or your customers, by email.

03 Why we use it

  • To answer you, and to prepare for and hold the meeting you asked for.
  • To continue that business conversation, including sending you the summary we promised.
  • To keep our systems secure and working.

That is the whole list. We do not run marketing campaigns from these details, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you booked a call. Hong Kong sets strict, separate rules for using personal data in direct marketing; if we ever wanted to, we would have to ask your consent first, and we would.

04 Cookies and tracking

This website uses none. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no social media buttons that report back, and no third-party scripts of any kind. That is why you are not being asked to consent to anything.

Our booking page is operated for us by Microsoft and lives on a Microsoft web address, which you will see in your browser. That page follows Microsoft's own privacy and cookie practices rather than ours.

05 Who else can see it

Only the people at Distributor Technologies who need to answer you, and the service providers who run the tools we use to do it:

  • Microsoft, which provides our email, our calendar and our booking page.
  • Our website hosting provider, which serves these pages and keeps the technical logs described above.

Those providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your details for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. If we are ever legally required to disclose something, we will do so only as far as the law requires.

Because these are international providers, your details may be stored or processed outside Hong Kong. They are protected by those providers' contractual and security commitments wherever they are held.

06 How long we keep it

For as long as the conversation is live, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case it resumes. When a conversation has clearly ended, we delete the correspondence and the booking record. You can ask us to do it sooner at any time. This is not only our own policy: the Ordinance requires us to erase personal data once it is no longer needed for the purpose we collected it for.

07 Your rights

Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance gives you two rights over the personal data we hold about you. This page is also the notice of those rights that the Ordinance requires us to give you.

  • Access. Ask what personal data we hold about you. We will tell you, and send you a copy of it.
  • Correction. Tell us that something we hold is wrong, and we will put it right.

Write to us at the address at the foot of this page. We will answer within 40 calendar days, which is the limit the Ordinance sets, and in practice much sooner. If we ever could not answer in full in time, we would write to you inside those 40 days, explain why, send whatever we could, and finish as soon as we were able. We may need to check that a request genuinely comes from you before acting on it.

The Ordinance permits us to charge a fee for supplying a copy of your data. We do not charge one.

Two things we do that Hong Kong law does not oblige us to do:

  • Delete it on request. The Ordinance gives rights of access and correction, not a general right to be forgotten. Ask us to delete what we hold and we will, then confirm that it is done.
  • Stop contacting you. Say so once and we stop, for good.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled any of this, you can complain to the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong, or to the privacy regulator in your own country.

08 If something goes wrong

Hong Kong does not currently require a company to report a data breach, either to the people affected or to the regulator. We would report one anyway.

If personal data we hold about you were lost or exposed in a way that put you at real risk, we would tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as soon as we practicably could, explain what had happened, and say what we were doing about it. That is what the Privacy Commissioner recommends, and it is what we would want to be told in your position.

09 Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your email address because you contacted us, we will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice.

Questions about any of this reach a person, not a queue.
